Dunedin's Craft Beer and Bites Crawl

The Pinellas Podcast TeamMay 28, 2026 6 min read

Dunedin has more breweries per capita than almost anywhere in Florida. Here's how to tour them the smart way.

Dunedin is a craft-beer destination, packing an impressive number of breweries into a small, walkable downtown. Add in a great food scene and the northern terminus of the Pinellas Trail, and you have the makings of a perfect low-key day out.

Why Dunedin is a beer town

The city helped launch Florida's craft-beer boom, and its breweries range from pioneering flagship taprooms to tiny, experimental operations. Most are within walking or short-cycling distance of each other, which makes a self-guided crawl easy and safe.

Do it the smart way

  • Start early afternoon and pace yourself
  • Split flights so you can taste more without overdoing it
  • Bike or walk the Pinellas Trail between stops
  • Line your stomach — eat before and during

Where the food comes in

Downtown Dunedin has excellent restaurants and food trucks that pair perfectly with a pint. Many taprooms welcome outside food or have trucks parked outside, so you can graze as you go.

Getting home safely

Use a rideshare, designate a driver, or stay at a nearby inn. The whole point is a relaxed day, so plan the ending before you start.

Dunedin's mix of beer, bikes, and Gulf breezes is hard to beat. Cheers.
